GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs responsible concession, customer service duties and semiskilled work in the Parks and Recreation Department.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Under general supervision of the Concession Manager an employee in this class performs responsible and semiskilled work involving provision of customer service, collection of fees, general maintenance and operations of concessions stand and at other similar facilities and does related work as required.

- Operates cash register; counts start-up cash and ensures enough change is available; collects and accounts for fees.
- Greets and assists patrons, collects fees, provides recreational equipment; assists with initiating activity.
- Answers telephone
- Rents equipment, collects, inventories and stores equipment.
- Maintains time records.
- Records each patron on sign-up sheet, totals and verifies fees collected.
- Operates concession stand, maintains drinks and other concessions; restocks as necessary.
- Inventories supplies and equipment.
- Enforces rules and regulations.
- Performs light custodial and beautification work; ensures overall concession area is clean and well-maintained.
- Performs related tasks as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: General knowledge of the operation of a concession stand or recreation facility; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to perform record keeping and mathematical calculations; ability to get along well with others; ability to work unusual hours during the summer months.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Education equivalent to 10th grade education and a minimum of age of sixteen (16). Prefer food service and/or recreational or athletics work experience. Experience working with the public highly desired.
JOB RELATED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, and some medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally. Work requires reaching, walking, stooping, crouching, standing, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
