Responsibilities
- Designs and prepares plans and drawings for proposed municipal buildings and related structures as well as for renovation projects for existing buildings.
- Engages with outside resources, such as engineers, design professionals, inspectors, and contractors as well as internal resources such as tenant departments, internal City departments, and other public entities and stakeholders.
- Ensures that projects are completed in accordance with appropriate regulations, ordinances, codes (building and otherwise), and requirements.
- Designs projects of a medium level of complexity and multiple projects at a time.
- Prepares preliminary working drawings for all types of municipal buildings covering general construction, heating, plumbing, electrical, and related work.
- Operates with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision.
- Performs a considerable amount of professional judgement is required for the performance of this work.
