Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in geography, land surveying, engineering, planning, urban studies, landscape architecture or architecture; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience in one or more of the above disciplines. Preference given to candidates with a degree in urban planning and/or previous experience in land use, transportation and comprehensive planning.

Responsibilities
- Prepares community plans related to land use, transportation, urban design, and development for the city.
- Serves as the District Planner assigned to one of the City's six Council Districts.
- Works with elected officials, the development community, local neighborhood groups, civic organizations, and residents to prepare data, reports, and land use plans of a comprehensive and complex nature.
- Reviews development plans for consistency with adopted area plans and the City's comprehensive plan (see playbook.kcmo.gov).
- Performs all activities related to updating area plans (data analysis, public engagement, web site building/maintenance, document production and text drafting, and creating mapping and graphics).
- Assists with implementation of area plans and the comprehensive plan.
