Do you enjoy being outside and working with children? If so Keene Parks and Recreation Department is looking for Certified Lifeguards this summer! You can have a fun job that allows you to earn a paycheck build your resume and work experience and make a difference for the children and families in your community! To qualify you must hold a current certification for Lifeguarding or be willing to get certified before the pools open for the summer! We will even help pay for your training! Duties include: supervising the pool preventing accidents ensuring the safety of all pool attendees assisting in planning/implementing swim lesson programs and helping to maintain cleanliness of the pool facilities supplies and equipment! Pay rates will range from $14- $15 per hour depending on years of experience and duties assigned. Hours are Monday-Friday 1pm-7pm and Saturday and Sunday 12pm-6pm with additional hours scheduled for swim lessons Monday-Thursday 9am-11:30am. Hours may exceed 40 hours per week and could change based on rentals and lessons! All applicants must be at least 15 years old and applicants age 18 and older are required to pass a Criminal Background Check. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Works under the general supervision of the Recreation Programmer.
Responsible for the supervision; safety; and accident prevention of all pool attendees.
Pool Staff are required to adhere to all guidelines outlined in the Pool Staff Guidelines.
Responsible for assisting; planning; and implementation of the swim lesson programs.
Responsible for the organization; maintenance and cleanliness of the pool facilities; supplies and equipment.
Lifeguards are required to perform daily facility checks and water tests; file completed accident and incident reports when necessary and inform their supervisor of any issues or concerns that may require immediate attention.
Supervisor is required to document weekly staff hours.
Acts as a liaison between the Recreation Department; campers and parents.
Keep all certifications (Lifeguard; WSI; CPR-First Aid) current.
All applicants will need to be available to work Monday - Friday; 1:00 - 7:00 p.m; Saturday & Sunday; 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. Hours may exceed 40 hours per week; and change based on rentals and lessons.
Qualifications
Current certification for Lifeguarding & CPR-First Aid is required.
Excellent Communication Skills Are Required.
Working in a team environment is required.
