What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Exercise Coordinator position at City Of Keller?
SCHEDULE: Position will work 19 hours/week, generally between 8am-5pm, Monday - Saturday. Flexibility available for academic needs.
NOTE : This is a regular year-round part-time position.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Group Exercise Coordinator is a part-time position responsible for providing a safe and effective exercise environment for Members and Guests through supervision of group exercise programs, completion of contracts for group exercise instructors and a focus on establishing a schedule for group exercise and coordination of the instructors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Meet monthly schedule and calendar deadlines to ensure the success of the group exercise program.
- Provide supervision of the group exercise instructors and their programs.
- Coordinate classes, scheduling, and hire & manage contract instructors for all group exercise classes.
- Instruct group exercise classes if instructor is not available
- Ensure that all exercise areas and equipment are in safe and effective working condition, including cleanliness being maintained to The Keller Pointe standards.
- Connect Guests to other Guests through ongoing contact and promotion of The Keller Pointe activities.
- Conduct oneself at all times in a manner of professionalism that aligns with the values, philosophies and standards of The Keller Pointe. This includes wearing The Keller Pointe approved uniform and nametag.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings.
- Adhere to all of the various written mandatory standards of operation, policies, procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc.
- Arrive to work on time, every day as scheduled.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Perform other tasks as needed or directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the fitness or exercise industry.
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching group exercise.
- Ability to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate professional public relations skills, effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Current Infant/Child/Adult/CPR and First Aid with AED certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association or ability to obtain upon employment offer.
- Certification from national organization such as ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), ACE (American Council on Exercise), NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), etc. preferred
