The Keller Pointe is the premier recreation and family-friendly community center located in the heart of Keller. Come and work at a fun and dynamic facility that values hard work and energetic people!
Summer Camp Counselor Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Provides high-quality education and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
- Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
- Organizes and leads various small and large group activities
- Ensures cleanliness of the site.
- Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports and daily attendance.
- Mediates any campers’ disputes.
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including the whereabouts of your charges at all times.
- Providing positive and enthusiastic customer service to all Members and guests.
- Maintains constant surveillance of the pool area.
This is a seasonal position that is from May 27th - August 15th. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30am – 6:30pm, flexible scheduling is available. Benefits include a free membership to The Pointe.
Summer Camp Counselor Qualifications / Skills:
- Positive attitude and a passion for working with children.
- Communication, problem-solving, organization, and mediation skills.
- Ability to motivate and maintain a positive atmosphere, and if necessary, use positive disciplinary techniques.
- Working knowledge of company safety protocols and ability to administer minor medical care.
- Leadership, alertness, and patience.
- Physical stamina and ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to carry heavy loads and travel hilly and uneven terrain.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Working towards High school diploma or equivalent.
- Camp, youth programs, recreation, or working with children experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Current lnfant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid with AED certification from Jeff Ellis & Associates, American Red Cross, or American Heart Association required or ability to obtain upon employment offer.
