Under the general supervision of a Field Supervisor or the Clubhouse Leadworker, the Golf Course Ranger is responsible for assisting players with the orderly flow of play at the municipal golf course in accordance with reservations and course policies. This position also performs a variety of unskilled and skilled manual tasks at the golf course as needed.The golf course operates seven (7) days/week during the season, weather permitting, on a schedule set by the Parks Department (approximately April through October/November). Golf Course Rangers are scheduled to work from dawn until dusk. Hours will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Please note that City employees (including seasonal employees) may only be employed in one classification at any one given time.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assures orderly flow of golf play by locating groups and making substitutions as necessary in the rotation.Monitors reservation system by accurately recording on starter sheets information on all players including number in group, actual starting times, number of carts in group, and finishing time.Assures consistent adherence to course policies on number of players per cart, monitoring unauthorized food or beverages, and verifying green fee receipts.Communicates to Clubhouse any changes or deviations from initial starting sheets.Monitors supplies at starter station including score cards and pencils.Diplomatically explains rules and regulations of course to the public.Assists grounds crew with basic course maintenance, i.e., sand trap preparation and garbage clean up. Performs other duties as assigned.

Written, oral and/or proficiency exams may be required to establish eligibility. The City of Kenosha reserves the right to further evaluate only those applicants who best meet the needs of the City.
