What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Golf Course Laborer 2025 position at City of Kenosha?
Under the general supervision of the Parks Field Supervisor and/or Golf Course Lead Worker, this position is responsible for groundskeeping activities of the municipal golf course in addition to performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks related to municipal golf course operations. Work is reviewed through observation for adherence to established policies and procedures. This is a temporary, seasonal position. The golf course operates on a schedule set by the Parks Department and is dependent upon seasonal weather conditions. The golf course operates up to seven (7) days per week during the summer, weather permitting. Hours will include early mornings, weekends and holidays.

- Reports directly to the Field Supervisor and/or Golf Course Lead Worker on a daily basis for obtaining orders and instructions.
- Ensures regular and correct maintenance is performed on and around golf course grounds, buildings, and facilities.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or HSED.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Must pass a driving record review, criminal background check and post-offer drug screen.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience working on a golf course.
- Knowledge of the various equipment and materials needed to operate golf course and facilities for the public.
- Knowledge of turf management practices related to golf course grounds maintenance.
- Knowledge of occupational safety rules and practices.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in general maintenance.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools, motor vehicles and light truck.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and superiors.
- Ability to establish and achieve goals and deadlines.
- Work requires frequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions including various weather conditions (rain, excessive heat, etc.).
- Work boots and apparel required.
- Work involves the regular, and at times sustained, performance of working over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stopping, working in confined spaces, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy (20-50 pound) items and occasionally very heavy (100 pounds or over) items.
- Work may involve operation of gasoline, electric or other powered machinery.
- Work may also involve the frequent use of coordinative skills in performing a variety of tasks with the full range of hand tools and shop equipment.
