Minimum Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a United States Citizen.
- Age: Must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license.
- Firearm Eligibility: Must be legally qualified to own and carry a firearm or sidearm.
- Criminal History:
- Must not have been convicted of lesser misdemeanors involving assault, attempted assault, stalking, menacing, or other offenses that involve physical force or threats against family members or other protected persons.
- Must not have been convicted of any felony offense of violence.
- Must have no undetected criminal activity that would result in criminal liability.
- Physical Examination: Must have passed a physical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 120 days prior to appointment. This examination must certify that:
- The applicant meets the physical requirements necessary to perform the duties of a police officer.
- The applicant meets the medical qualifications established by the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund.
