Provides advanced administrative support to the City Manager or assigned Department Director such as researching issues, developing policies and procedures, drafting position papers and presentations and staying abreast of current trends and developments. Responsible for special and complex projects, studies and other functions as assigned by the City Manager or assigned Department Director. Must interact frequently with the public and other City staff in a customer-friendly manner at all times.This information is intended to be descriptive of the principle duties and responsibilities of the position. 1. Performs a variety of responsible and complex administrative duties.
2. Participates in the development and implementation of City goals, objectives, policies and priorities.
3. Participates in various City Boards and Commissions, when needed.
4. Researches issues to provide analysis and recommendations.
5. Intern shall comply with all City policies for workplace conduct and follow reasonable instructions from supervising City staff.
6. Performs other duties as may be assigned.• Proficiency in using computers and programs, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
• Must be able to present a positive work attitude and exhibit a good public work appearance.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.• Current student in classified as a college junior, senior, or in a related Master’s program at an accredited university with a minimum 3.25 GPA.
• Possession of a valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
