Performs responsible pool duties ensuring the safety of patrons in the pool and pool deck area, provides customer service, and performs general maintenance tasks. Work schedule will include early mornings, nights, weekends and on call for special events and/or emergencies. Other duties may be required and assigned.Tier 1 Base Entry Level: Mans a lifeguard station in order to maintain the safety of all patronsMonitors activities at the pool to prevent accidentsPractices preventative lifeguard measures and performs water rescuesAdministers First Aid/ CPR/ AED as necessaryCautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulationsFollows emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areasInspects facilities for cleanliness; completes general pool cleaning and maintenance dutiesAssists in the supervision of special activities and pool parties.Assists aquatic patrons with various needs pertaining to the pool areasAttends all training and in-services as requiredMust have ARC certificationMaintain a professional and personable demeanor while working with participants, staff, and visitorsPerforms other related duties as assignedTier 2:All Tier I DutiesExperience lifeguarding for 1 full year or 2 full summers with ARC certificationAble to work independently of direct supervisionAssist with shadowing new employees in their respective job descriptionTier 3:Tier II duties and additional responsibilities associated with job descriptionHas at least 1 additional certification (i.e. LGI, AAA/ISMA, or aquatic related) and actively use the certification for the facilityAssist with in-services and additional team training
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Must be a minimum age of 15 and have a current Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED and First Aid; or must be able to obtain certification for continued employment.
