What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant-Economic Development Alliance position at CITY OF KIRKSVILLE?
General Purpose
Serves as the first point of contact for clients and guests. Performs a variety of secretarial and administrative work for department including technical and professional work.
Essential Function
Greets visitors, answers phone, opens mail, composes, types, and edits a variety of correspondence, contracts, reports, packets, minutes, agendas, and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness.
Manages data bases, performs internet research and updates websites. Performs simple design of marketing materials.
Manages calendar, membership dues, and completes necessary documentation.
Assists with the preparation and maintenance of multiple budgets and financial statements.
Maintains inventory of office supplies ordering supplies as needed, assists in the procurement of minor equipment and purchases, prepares requisitions.
Provides clerical support in assisting with the relocation/expansion of prospective businesses. Maintains accurate and current statistical and demographical information for the potential relocation/expansion of prospective businesses and industries. Develops contact and reference information for various data sources.
Assists in the scheduling and subsequent preparation of meeting agendas and minutes and dissemination of agenda packets to boards and committee members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Required qualifications include high school diploma or GED and an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired; excellent written, oral, organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to take initiative and self-direction. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented. Preferred experience include previous secretarial/office experience, proficient skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web site editing tools.

Pay: From $17.41 per hour
