What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Shop Associate & Lead Shop Associate position at City of Lafayette, Colorado?
The Golf Course Shop Associate Lead will also assist in the operation of the Indian Peaks Golf Course Pro Shop, selling merchandise to customers and providing education to the public regarding the game of golf.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply for these positions.
- Control the starting of players; closely follow the pace of play; remind golfers of course rules and etiquette; take tee times according to the reservation policies and complete appropriate paperwork; sell merchandise and collect golf course concession rental fees.
- Assist in any phase of the clubhouse operation as required; i.e., daily housekeeping chores; answer phone calls and address customer needs.
- Provide guidance and oversee work or personnel assigned to the area.
- Perform related work as required and assigned.
- Assist in selling merchandise and in the collection of fees; assist in controlling play on the course; responsible for keeping the golf shop neat and clean at all times; maintain a sufficient supply of golf carts to be rented and keep range machines full and bucket supplies adequate; stock and clean merchandise; responsible for changing displays.
- Answer phone calls and fulfill customer needs.
- Oversee the work of personnel assigned to the area; responsible for the opening and closing of the clubhouse; promote the game of golf.
- Perform related work as required and assigned.
Golf Course Shop Associate:
KNOWLEDGE: Game of golf, the rules of golf, golf etiquette, and City departmental rules and regulations.
SKILL: Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.
ABILITY: Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; tactfully and consistently advise players of rules and regulations, and golf etiquette; maintain positive public relations at all times; function independently with minimal supervision; perform light physical labor; work weekends and holidays. Must have and understand basic computer skills.
TRAINING: Thorough knowledge of the game of golf preferred.
EXPERIENCE: No specific requirement, but prefer exposure to golf course environment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Golf Course Shop Associate Lead:
KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of the game of golf, the rules of golf, golf etiquette, and computers.
SKILL: Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.
ABILITY: Use cash register, make change; understand/carry out oral and written instructions; maintain positive public relations; function independently with minimal supervision; perform light physical labor. Work weekends and holidays.
TRAINING: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE: No specific requirement; must have thorough knowledge of game of golf; cash handling experience desired, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
