Food & Beverage Associate
LOCATION:
Tropicanoe Cove
HOURS:
Seasonal – Up to 40 hours/week. Includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
SALARY:
$11.00-$12.00/hour
DESCRIPTION:
Incumbent serves as Food & Beverage Associate for the Parks and Recreation Department and is responsible for the daily
operations of the concession area at Tropicanoe Cove Family Aquatic Center, ensuring customer service and offering the
public a pleasant experience. Maintains concession area activities and maintains cleanliness of areas. Assists customers
with purchases and demonstrates products as required and makes suggestive sales. Prepares food orders, ensuring proper
completion of orders and compliance with health code requirements. Performs basic area maintenance, including cleaning
and straightening of products. Maintains accurate stock/sales records. Performs related as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 14 years of age. Certification or ability to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid safety. Ability to regularly
work extended, weekend and/or evening hours. Ability to take, prepare and serve food and drink orders. Ability to suggest
and demonstrate products. Strong communication, public relations and customer service skills. Working knowledge of the
practical operations of a concession business. Ability to maintain accurate sales/stock records. Ability to use basic hand
tools and cleaning supplies. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, and work alone and with other in
a team environment. Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the position, including standing for long period of
time in extreme weather conditions. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers and pool
patrons, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities. Ability to work
extended, weekend, and/or evening hours.
