POSITION:
Seasonal Loeb Stadium Grounds
LOCATION:
Lafayette Parks and Recreation Maintenance Division: Loeb Stadium-Columbian Park
HOURS:
Seasonal – Up to 40 hours/week. Includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
SALARY:
$12.50-$13.50 per hour
DESCRIPTION:
Incumbent serves as Seasonal Loeb Stadium Grounds Crew for the Parks and Recreation Department, Loeb Stadium,
responsible for maintaining assigned grounds, facilities and equipment. Maintains baseball field and prepares it for games
including astroturf maintenance. Cleans concourse, press box, suites, dugouts, and stands, and cleans and stocks restrooms.
Removes and replaces garbage bags in stadium as needed. Maintains inside and outside of Loeb Stadium performing
custodial and maintenance duties as needed. Maintains and cleans equipment storage facilities. Repairs, maintains and
cleans any equipment, including facility tools. Performs related essential duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Education and/or experience in baseball field maintenance required. Working
knowledge of grounds maintenance and ability to properly operate various related tools and equipment, such as pressure
washer, rotary surface cleaners, gator utv, disinfecting sprayers, backpack blowers and various hand tools such as brooms,
shovels, mops, etc. Working knowledge of and ability to follow Department and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
Ability to physically perform assigned duties. Ability to comply with all employer/department personnel policies and work
rules, including but not limited to: attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct. Ability to effectively
communicate with co-workers, supply vendors, and park patrons, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender,
cultural diversities and disabilities. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions/directions, and
appropriately respond to constructive criticism. Ability to work with others in a team environment, and maintain
appropriate, respectful interrelationships with co-workers. Ability to work on several tasks at the same time, often under
time pressure, and complete assignments effectively amidst frequent distractions and interruptions. Ability to occasionally
work extended, weekend and/or evening hours. Possession of a valid driver’s license and demonstrated safe driving record
required.
