ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Collects, maintains, and reconciles all payments by mail, in person or electronically
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding utility bills, payment, and services
- Resolves billing discrepancies and disputes in a professional and timely manner
- Maintains accurate records of all transactions and correspondence
- Assist customers with account updates or inquiries
- Participates in team meetings and contributes to overall improvement of department
- Answers the City’s main telephone line, routing incoming calls efficiently and professionally.
- Receives, posts, and distributes departmental mail
- Provides notary service
- Requires in-office attendance
- Position may be designated as Mission Critical by the Department Director
- Performs related work as required
- High school graduation or possessing an acceptable equivalency diploma
- One (1) year of responsible experience in administrative work.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must maintain a valid telephone number
- Florida Public Notary
- Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Clerical — Knowledge of administrative, bookkeeping, and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of computers, office terminology, practices and procedures, equipment, business English, spelling, and arithmetic
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to make rapid and accurate mathematical computations
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers and the public
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force regularly, and routine keyboard operations
