SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this individual is responsible for the coordination and supervision of a mechanical crew. This is a working foreman position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews the activities of Maintenance Department repairmen, including automotive.
Maintains, repairs, and adjusts pumps, electric motors, valves, meters, chemical feeders, filters, and a variety of automotive work.
Instruct subordinates in improved work techniques and safety measures. Supervises batching of chemicals and custodial labor.
Perform repair work of unusual difficulty or urgency and maintain record of maintenance and repair made to each piece of equipment.
Maintains an inventory of parts commonly used to expedite repairs and sets priorities of work orders received.
Perform work of Auto Mechanic I, II, and III.
Perform any other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This individual has supervisory responsibilities over mechanical crews of 2-10 employees.

Perform all duties of Auto Mechanic I, II, and III.
Excellent knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices used in maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
Ability to work from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
Ability to work with government agencies and contractors.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Employees in Vehicle Maintenance must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (C.D.L.)
