Examples of Duties
- Direct oversight of 7 full-time employees and one apprentice within the Streets Section; manage services and programs including pavement maintenance, street sweeping, JUILIE locating, sign maintenance, electric street light maintenance, and traffic control/light systems maintenance
- Lead and manage the City’s snow and ice removal program, including all snow event scheduling, planning, and removal services
- Regular on call availability for emergency discussions and City needs
- Participates in bids, contract negotiations, and pre-construction meetings relating to public streets
- Strong communication and collaborative skills with fellow City staff, residents, and other stakeholders
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in street maintenance or equivalent fields of work, preferred
- Direct supervisory experience, a plus
- Possess or have ability to attain a CDL License Class A CDL
- Ability to work alternate work-hour schedules for winter, weekends, and when workload dictates
- Ability to perform work in all weather conditions, including rain and snow
