RESPONSIBLE TO: Enrichment, Fitness and Outdoor Recreation SupervisorHOURS: Varies/FlexiblePAY RATE: $25-$30 per hour depending on experience.GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: The City of Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Group Fitness Instructors for small group classes, serving a wide range of fitness levels. Classes are held indoors and/or outdoors. The ideal candidate is reliable, while bringing energy and expertise to each class. Fitness Instructors deliver effective workouts in a safe environment by monitoring and adjusting programming to meet each person’s ability and skill level. They are encouraging and build a positive rapport with each participant. Instructors must have the ability to demonstrate safe exercise techniques and communicate simultaneously. HOURS: This is a year-round position, up to 5 hours per week. Hours are typically between 6:30am to 7:30pm on weekdays, and 8:00am to 12:00pm on weekends.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: TYPICAL DUTIES: Provide safe, fun and challenging fitness classesCreate a positive environment for new and experienced participantsSupport and encourage all participants to reach their fitness goalsBegin and end all classes on scheduleMaintain a clean and orderly space for classesCommunicate incident/injury reports to supervisor
