GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs duties inspecting and maintaining reclaimed water pumping facilities, reclaimed transmission lines and any attached appurtenances.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the overall supervision of the Chief Wastewater Plant Operator.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
None.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads meters, gauges, timers and other measuring devices and prepares reports; Inspects storage tanks and pond water levels and adjusts pressure settings, float levels, and flow control devices as needed.
Install and monitor backflow meters; Maintain inventory on truck and request items needed for proper operations.
Performs general maintenance duties to include but not limited to painting, mowing, disc, and weed-eating rib-site as needed.
Calibrate reuse meters annually; Install and supervise installation of reuse lines, meters, etc.
Inspects and performs minor and preventive maintenance to pumping facilities; such as tightening packing and bolts, repairing small leaks, and cleaning screens.
Rotate rib cells as needed; Performs field inspections for cross connections and illegal connection between potable and reclaimed water lines and takes appropriate action.
Daily turn off/on valves from rib-site to the GSR and back, as needed; Communicate daily projects/assignments with supervisor.
Qualifications
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
(A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and supplemented by two (2) years experience in installation, maintenance, operation, or repair of wastewater recovery systems; and possession of a reclaimed water field inspection & operations specialist certificate or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment. Obtain Fat, Oil and Grease (FOG 1) Management Certification.
(B) Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary knowledge, skills and abilities:
(A) Working knowledge of reclaimed water distribution systems including pipe sizes and flow patterns; equipment, facilities, material, methods and procedures used in a wastewater treatment plant maintenance and operation activities.
(B) Skilled in operating tools and equipment.
Salary : $40,435 - $56,659
