Must be age 15 to work as a Front Desk Attendant at the Lakeway Swim Center.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Swim Center Manager and Assistant Manager, provide outstanding customer service while processing sales promptly, accurately and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide excellent customer service while working in a fast-paced environment. Courteously greet patrons; provide information either on the telephone or in person by answering questions and requests. Accurately take messages.
- Communicate courteously with the general public and answer questions that might arise about service provided. Handle patron issues and respond to complaints in a way that encourages customer satisfaction. Provide excellent community relations.
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
- Notify Swim Center Manager and Assistant Manager on duty when issues arise that cannot be handled independently.
- Demonstrate cooperative behavior with staff, supervisors, and the public.
- Assist in special activities at the pool.
- Convey a positive professional image by action, communication and appearance.
- Exhibit regular, reliable and punctual attendance, which is an essential function of the job.
- Contribute to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
- Report any staff on-the-job injury or patron injury to the Swim Center Manager and Assistant Manager on duty and/or Human Resources.
- Ability to assist in executing the Swim Center’s Emergency Action Plan.
- Ability to follow and communicate the Swim Center’s safety rules, department and City policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Experience
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
Knowledge of
- Appropriate cash handling skills. Ability to make change and properly record transactions.
Skill/Ability to
- Handle a high-volume of customers in a fast paced environment while offering excellent public service. Work in a multi-task environment.
- Count money; accurately make change and properly record and document transactions/ information through the register system.
- Communicate courteously and effectively with supervisors, co-workers and general public.
- Work closely and cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers and the general public.
- Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Speak, read, and write effectively in the English language.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures including weekends, holidays and some after hours. Subject to sunburn, and other sun exposure reactions.
- May be exposed to pool chemicals or pool equipment.
- May encounter occasional stressful situations.
- May be exposed to dust, cleaning agents, materials and equipment.
- Must wear required clothing, which includes closed toe shoes and Lakeway Swim Center t-shirt.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to move and handle boxes of merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds, which may entail pushing, lifting, bending, crouching, stooping.
- Ability to set up and take down equipment for various activities.
- Must possess the ability to access remote sites which may require climbing and traversing rough or varied terrain in all weather conditions.
- May climb step ladder to reach or store merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Must possess mental acuity for attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
- Must hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATIONS AND / OR LICENSES
- Age must comply with City’s Personnel and Policies guidelines (minimum age is 15 with parental/guardian consent).
- High school diploma or GED required, or current student status.
- Proof of citizenship and/or eligibility to legally work in the United States.
Preferred Certifications
- CPR/First Aid certifications

We are interviewing and hiring for summer season. The summer season starts May 24 through August 10 and weekends starting August 16 (Sat/Sun) through September 1. A wide variety of shifts available!
Must attend Front Desk Attendant training on May 15, 205 from 4:30pm - 8:00pm at the Lakeway Swim Center and
ALL STAFF ORIENTATION on May 19, 2025 from 4:45pm - 8:45pm at the Lakeway Swim Center.
2025 Front Desk Attendant Hiring Rates:
First-Summer Attendant $13.00/HR
Second-Summer Attendant $13.50/HR
Third-Summer Attendant $14.00/HR
If more than three season $14.50/HR
