PAY RATE: $17.50/hr
Under the general direction of the regular Park Ranger, the gate attendant is responsible for fee collection and is the main point of contact for visitors coming into Bear Creek Lake Park. Attendants must clearly and accurately provide visitors with rules and regulations and any pertinent information relating to the park.
The City of Lakewood is currently recruiting variable employees for this position. A variable employee is an at-will employee who works in a seasonal or temporary capacity. Their work schedule is based on business need. This position would be a part-time non benefitted position.
Fee collection from park visitors, and entry into computer revenue system. Fee collection includes cash credit cards and checks.
Selling annual park passes and making campsite reservations.
Balancing of days income receipts.
Greeting visitors in a cheerful and courteous manner.
Answering questions about the park, its facilities, regulations and programs knowledgeably and dispensing brochures.
Handling stressful and emergency situations capably and correctly
Performs other duties as assigned.
May also be required to perform as an Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) boat inspector and maintain the required state certification.
IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS
Performs basic maintenance duties as needed or as assigned, including gatehouse cleanup, window washing, restroom cleaning, etc.
Accurately logging lost and found items.

Supervision Received:
Receives general supervision from the regular Park Ranger.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Education:
High school education, or course work leading to a degree, in a natural resources related field is preferred.
May be required to maintain State of Colorado boat inspection and decontamination certification.
Experience:
Previous experience in park setting or cashier preferred.
