HIRING RANGE: $17.50 - $19.50/hour
Group Leader III employees will work in a variety of school age settings with children aged 5-12.
Starting salary is $17.50 hourly but is determined on experience and qualifications.

The City of Lakewood is currently recruiting variable employees for this position. A variable employee is an at-will employee who works in a seasonal or temporary capacity. Their work schedule is based on business need. This position would be a part-time non benefitted position.
MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Can act as a Site Coordinator if needed and perform all supervisor related duties.
Adheres to Colorado Childcare Licensing regulations.
Actively participates in all areas of programming.
Organize and lead all arts and crafts programs.
Actively supervises children, staff and sites at local elementary schools, City facilities and on field trips to venues such as swimming pools, museums, and parks.

Provide exceptional customer service to all participants/parents/guardians in the SAS Program.
Work in outdoor and indoor environments.
Performs other duties as assigned such as administrative tasks and cleaning.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Group Leader III must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, demonstrate ability to work with children, and must have completed at least one of the following qualifications:
A. Must have at least three (3) months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) who are not related to the individual: or
B. Current early childhood professional credential level one (1) or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the department based on its Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Worksheet.
Director Qualified must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and must have completed at least one of the following qualifications:
A. Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university.
B. An associate’s degree or sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited college or university and three (3) months (455 hours) of experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children over the ages of four (4) years who are not related to the individual: or
C. Twenty-one (21) months (3,185 hours) of experience in the care and supervision of four (4) years who are not related to the individual and one of the following qualifications: Completion of six (6) semester hours, from a regionally accredited college or university: or Completion of forty (40) clock hours of training in course work applicable to school-age children with the first nine months in the director position. The 40 clock hours of training cannot include any of the required training as listed in licensing rules section 2.508: or
D. A current early childhood professional credential level II (2) or higher in version 3.0 as determined by the department based on its Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 Worksheet.
CPR certification (or receive CPR certification with 30 days of hire).

Hours:
We are seeking candidates to work Monday-Friday during the hours of 7:45 am to 5:30 pm for the upcoming summer camp season. Opportunities to work either part-time (20 hours per week) or full-time (40 hours per week) are available. All job-related training will be provided by the City of Lakewood.
