The Senior Network Engineer position is a member of the Infrastructure team that reports to the Infrastructure & Support Services Supervisor. This role's main focus is to design, implement, monitor, manage, and maintain the City's wired and wireless network systems. This role will handle the creation, adjustment, and management of firewall components (objects, object groups, security policies), NATs, and VPN solutions on all city firewalls. This position would work with team members to manage telecommunications technologies and vendor circuits. We are seeking a highly adaptable and well-rounded Senior Network Engineer who is knowledgeable of cloud-based technologies and who will partner with our team to embrace new challenges and opportunities for growth. Responsibilities
- Designs, implements, monitors, manages, and supports all network infrastructure at the City.
- Supports and works with vendors to manage and maintain the City's phone system.
- Primary)Shares responsibility for ISP circuit management (Coax, DSL, Fiber, SIP, POTs).
- Primary)Shares the responsibility for management of the City's private fiber network.
- Primary)Shares the responsibility for management of the City's firewall policies.
- Triages, troubleshoots, and responds to service desk tickets and system alerts.
- Manages wireless networks (Wireless APs, Point to Point wireless, and cellular routers).
- Performs routine maintenance tasks such as patches, software upgrades, and firmware upgrades.
- Maintains network access control across City infrastructure (Aruba Clearpass)
- Participates as a member of the on-call support team (3-5 weeks a year).

Must successfully complete and maintain required state or departmental physical standards and certifications.

If the use of arm and / or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a professional office environment, at offsite locations within Lakewood. -. Work involves numerous interruptions and requests for service. Work involves use of new technology (design and development). Managing multiple projects and end user requests / problems requires the ability to deal with multiple and conflicting priorities. After successfully completing the 6-month probationary period, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Pay Range
103,521.60-$134,617.60
Background and reference checks will be conducted for all regular and some variable / seasonal positions.
Salary : $103,522 - $134,618
