PAY RANGE : $15.08-$19.76 / hr
Under general supervision from the Paha Director and the Assistant Director, with direct supervision from the Program Lead. Camp Paha Program Aids assist Program Leads with the day to day needs of the campers in their groups. This includes engaging with campers during planned activities, ensuring a safe and fun environment, and assisting with activities of daily living such as feeding, changing, and bathroom care.
The City of Lakewood is currently recruiting variable employees for this position. A variable employee is an at-will employee who works in a seasonal or temporary capacity. Their work schedule is based on business need. This position would be a part-time non benefitted position.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This job description does not intend to list every function of the position).
Essential Job Functions :
- Perform job in a professional manner, i.e. dress appropriately, arrive on time, stay until the end of your shift, attend all appropriate staff meetings, and staff orientation.
- Participate and engage in all camp activities with campers.
- Demonstrate camp spirit and encourage a positive camp culture among peers and campers
- Maintain an enthusiastic attitude and serve as a role model on a daily basis.
- Assist with planning and leading small and large group activities for campers during scheduled group times, transitions or other down times.
- Comply with required camp ratios.
- Ensure the health, well-being and safety of all campers, participants and staff, abide by and enforce City of Lakewood's policies and procedures including the "No Isolated Moments" policy.
- Follow all Child Care License standards as set forth by Paha Director and those respective agencies.
- Assist leadership team with the supervision of campers.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all areas and facilities used by campers and staff on a daily basis.
- Assist the leadership team by keeping your group on time and on schedule.
- Be knowledgeable of any special camper needs, including health & behavioral.
- Be familiar with City of Lakewood policies and procedures and adhere to those procedures.

Specific Job Functions
Supervising, caring, and facilitating activities for campers in Camp Care occurring before or after regular camp hours.Participate in all activities with campers to ensure the full participation and enjoyment of camp activities.Ensure group safety at all times in all aspects of camp.When assigned to a camper group, support the daily maintenance of your group's home base room (i.e. dump trash, hang up swim things, vacuum your room, tidy up camper things). Also help maintain the commons areas : lunch room, playground, front grounds, buses used by your group, etc.Attend mandatory pre-camp Staff training as well weekly staff meetings.Responsible for your group staying on time and on schedule.Assist campers with all of their daily personal needs at camp.Assist Head Counselors with written weekly progress notes including camper goals, activities, and behaviors.Communicate with parents regarding camper behaviors, schedule changes and other pertinent information.Hours of Work
