The City of Lancaster Parks & Recreation has openings for cashiers at the City's pools.
Applicants will provide customer service and collect payments from pool patrons.
DEFINITION: Under direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and Aquatics Coordinator, the Pool Cashier is responsible for monetary transactions at the pool facility. The Cashier handles daily admittance into the facility and concession stands. The Cashier must be able to provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude. The Cashier also assists in safeguarding and monitoring the conduct of patrons to prevent accidents and unsafe practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Maintains financial and attendance records.
- Operates Cash Register.
- Communicates information to the public about schedules and activities.
- Supports facility rules in order to prevent accidents and safety hazards.
- Aids pool staff during emergencies.
- Maintains a positive attitude with the public at all times.
- Helps with completing required paperwork related to rescues, assists, first aid, maintenance and disciplinary actions, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintains cleanliness of pool facility, restrooms, pool deck, trash and concession area.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Attends mandatory trainings.

The duties of this job are mainly performed outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and observe. Employee must be able to effectively communicate. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, swim and assist performing lifesaving rescue operations. The employee will use hands to feel and handle, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance or stoop or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Education/Experience: Must be at least 15 years old, have basic math proficiency, and have knowledge of water safety, facility rules and accident prevention.
