What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at City of Lancaster, Texas?
Inspects and oversees construction of structures within the City of Lancaster to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications by performing the following duties.
Class D Water and Wastewater Licenses
- Provides inspections for City and Public construction projects within the right of way.
- Makes sure that contractors follow the City of Lancaster's design manual and are within specifications for the project.
- Makes sure the contractor is following applicable traffic control plans as submitted.
- Make routine visual inspection daily to ensure that all City designs and specs are followed.
- Provides right of way inspections for permits.
- Plans reviews and attends meetings related to various construction projects.
- Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts.
- Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
- Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.
- Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approves installation.
- Interprets blueprints and specifications for Contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Valid Class C Driver’s LicenseClass D Water and Wastewater Licenses
