What are the responsibilities and job description for the Light Equipment Operator - Storm Water position at City of Lancaster, Texas?
Maintains and repairs Streets/Storm Water drainage structures in the City of Lancaster by performing the following duties.
- Operation of equipment to restore all storm water drainage structures.
- Work with storm water department with the completion of assignments and special projects including but not limited to the use of heavy equipment to clean drainage pipes, ditches, channels, easements, flumes, under bridges, and creeks within the boundary of the roadway and right-of-ways.
- Operate mowers and equipment to trim trees, bushes, and other vegetation, to ensure proper drainage inside City owned right-of-ways as well as other drainage structures.
- Work with Streets department to assist with the completion of assignments and special projects including but not limited to repairing roads with asphalt and concrete work, hauling excavated dirt, rock, concrete, and debris, etc.
- Use of concrete work to repair, maintain, and replace storm water drainage headwalls, flumes, spillways, and approach and departure slabs on both ends of the culverts.
- Use of heavy equipment, hand tools, shovels, rakes, etc. to clean and clear a finished job site once all work is completed.
- Responsible and safe operation of City of Lancaster vehicles and equipment for approved work-related transportation
