Job Summary:
The Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Content Creator to join our marketing team. In this role, as support to the Marketing Coordinator, you will assist the development and implementation of social media strategy and the enhancement of our online presence across multiple platforms. As a key member of the marketing team, you will manage social media content, newsletters, press releases, and our website, ensuring our programming and initiatives engage and inspire our community. This role also involves analyzing social media insights and website traffic to refine strategies and optimize content.
Example of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and assist with the management of comprehensive social media strategies that align with LPAC’s goals and audience.
- Produce and assist curate engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.), including posts, videos, stories, and other multimedia formats.
- Compose and design email newsletters that inform and engage subscribers with upcoming events, performances, and special initiatives.
- Write compelling and engaging copy for social media posts, press releases, newsletters, website content, event promotions, and other digital materials, ensuring consistency in tone and alignment with the center's brand voice.
- Assist monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the performance of social media campaigns and newsletters, using insights to adjust strategies and improve engagement.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase engagement, foster community relationships, and build brand awareness through organic social media content and newsletters.
- Work closely with the marketing team and other departments to gather content, promote events, and achieve shared objectives.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in social media marketing and digital content creation.
- Communicate with influencers, industry professionals, and community partners to foster relationships and build a strong online network.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media and newsletter success, including engagement rates, impressions, and conversion metrics.
- Maintain and update a content calendar to ensure a steady flow of content across all platforms and timely publication of materials.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years of experience as a Social Media Specialist, Content Creator, or similar role, with a strong background in content creation and social media strategy (desired)
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest) and best practices for brand awareness, engagement, and impressions.
- Strong skills in writing, photography, video editing, and graphic design to create visually appealing and effective content.
- Basic photography skills and experience with DSLR cameras.
- Experience analyzing social media and website analytics, using insights to refine content and improve engagement.
- Understanding of SEO principles and web traffic metrics to optimize content and drive audience growth.
- Familiarity with conducting audience and buyer persona research to tailor content to target demographics.
- Excellent multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Later, Meta) and basic familiarity with web design and publishing tools.
- Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Enthusiasm for the arts, culture, community engagement, and a passion for the performing arts.
Education and Experience:
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university majoring in Communications or a related field is desirable.
