The City of Laramie is looking for a Customer Operations Leader to perform a variety of responsible, supervisory duties at the Laramie Community Recreation Center. This position works independently under the supervision of full-time Recreation Program Staff to provide support for all aspects of the customer experience at the Laramie Recreation Center, including opening and closing the facility, maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the facility, coordinating the efforts of other staff and offering customer service at the front desk.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Provide excellent customer service to patrons and program participants in-person and over the phone.
•Work in a supervisory capacity under the direction of full-time Recreation Staff to provide for overall facility operations, including the opening and closing of the facility, set up, tear down and clean up for scheduled programs and activities.
•Work in a customer service capacity at the front desk utilizing the computer and office systems required to manage customer accounts, register participants, reserve facilities and answer patron questions.
•Supervise, train and support part-time staff to monitor the activities of patrons and program participants to ensure safe and respectful behavior in the facility, enforcing policies and rules as appropriate.
Minimum qualifications:
•Must have demonstrated ability to lead others, give direction, support and guidance to other staff.
•Must have excellent customer service skills.
•Must be available to work early mornings, afternoons, or evenings, and on weekends in an independent and reliable fashion.
•Must be able to work effectively in a team atmosphere in a dynamic and often busy environment.
•Must possess computer knowledge and skills.
•First aid and CPR/AED certification are required (training will be provided to successful candidate.)
Preferred Qualifications:(A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying):
•Demonstrated leadership skills and experience as well as self-motivated work ethic.
•Working knowledge of recreational activities, including hazards and safety precautions common to recreational activities.
•Understanding and experience in working with the general public, including parents and children, seniors, interest groups and other staff under supervision.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and the general public; ability to create and maintain enthusiasm in the workplace.
•High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, swim, walk, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, balance, lift 50 lbs., occasionally push or pull 100 lbs., and far and near acuity. Work environment includes exposure to noise, outdoors, confining workspace, chemicals, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards, exposure to blood-borne pathogens, body fluids and tissue, and diseases. Ability to travel to different sites, and ability for evening and weekend work.
