Ideal candidates will be highly motivated and eager to put their skills to work in a complex department. The selected candidate will perform sample collections, laboratory analysis and other related duties as assigned. Knowledge of lab practices, SCADA, PLC’s and electronic instrumentation, water or wastewater treatment is desired.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment equipment, facilities, and lift stations, sample collection and laboratory analysis.
- Must be able to operate heavy equipment and dump trucks, belt filter presses and other solids handling equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and implement complex process control strategies in mechanical, electronic, and biological systems.
- Ability to develop and maintain processes and maintenance records, spreadsheets and trends towards the end of identifying cause and effect relationships.
- Ability to sit, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 50 lbs.; tolerate foul odors, sludge and biohazards, exposure to cold, noise, outdoors, confined space, chemicals, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards. Ability to differentiate between colors. Ability to travel to different sites and locations.
- Must be available for rotational weekend work and for 24-hour on-call and emergency response.
QUALIFICATIONS (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying):
- Completion of 12th grade (H.S. diploma or GED) supplemented by specialized training in mathematics, chemistry, or related field.
- Current Wyoming driver license and Wyoming Class B CDL, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Must be willing and able to obtain the necessary continuing education credit hours.
- Must possess Wyoming certification in Wastewater Treatment and Collections or have the ability to obtain certification in a timely manner.
