Job Description
Maintains and repairs City equipment; performs routine maintenance and diagnostic checks to ensure vehicles and equipment operate under the conditions which they were designed for.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Repairs and maintains City vehicles, light equipment, and small machinery and their associated systems such as electrical, hydraulic, compression, and water pumps.
- Performs complete overhaul and mechanical repair work on City equipment, which includes : automobiles, light and heavy duty trucks, mowers, and other standard and specialized equipment; performs preventive maintenance and diagnostic work on vehicles.
- Repairs and overhauls transmissions, differentials, front and rear end assemblies.
- Inspects, adjusts, and replaces necessary units and related parts, valves, pistons, piston rings, brakes, main bearing assembly, cooling, ignition, and fuel systems.
- Repairs and overhauls motors, generators, carburetor, clutches; replaces brake axles and springs.
- Repairs and overhauls air compressors, hydraulic systems, and other specialized related equipment.
- Required to comply with all City of Laredo's policies and procedures.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs other related duties as required.
