Job Description
Conducts inspections of new and add-on commercial and residential construction to determine conformance to applicable plumbing codes; reviews plans of construction, alteration, or repair to determine whether plans, workmanship, materials, and related subsystems conform with existing plumbing code requirements.

- Plans and schedules assigned work; instructs and trains in correct methods and procedures; reviews and evaluates employee's performance
- Reviews and approves inspections for sprinkler systems, water meters, gas and water lines replacements and to install septic tanks with established policies and procedures.
- Conducts on-site inspections of water, sewer or gas line construction to check the progress and ensure compliance with city ordinances and plumbing codes.
- Conducts on-site inspections of building construction to ensure compliance with city ordinance and plumbing codes.
- Inspects gasoline tanks in new gas checks for gas lines leaks.
- Checks and reviews plan, specifications, and materials for conformance to existing plumbing codes.
- Point out deficiencies to contractors and explains requirements for conformance.
- Visits constructions sites to make inspections for conformance to existing codes; posts inspections and resettles on permits register; investigates complains concerning violations of the code.
- Explains and interprets plumbing codes and regulations.
- Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors and other business contacts.
- Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.

Valid Texas Drivers License
Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
