Job Description
Oversees and directs the plants' maintenance crews daily work activities. Checks and performs scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance and repairs on assigned mechanical equipment. Maintains and repairs sanitary sewer main lines and associated piping support equipment.

- Leads crew members in operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and water systems, such as transmissions, pumps, and hoists.
Performs construction work, including excavation, concrete, and asphalt work.
Assists crew members with labor and equipment operation.
Installs water lines, water valves, and fire hydrants.
Serves on call for 24 hours on rotating basis, as required.
Supervises field crew, including recommendation for training and performance evaluations; enacts personnel actions to ensure productivity and that quality standards are maintained.
Responsible for overseeing the various construction projects, preventive and corrective maintenance of the various conveyance, and control mechanisms utilized in the water distribution and sanitary sewer systems.
Maintains records of various materials used in field operations on a daily basis.
Ensures maintenance and repairs of all equipment utilized in the daily field operations are scheduled and performed accordingly.
Oversees the daily field activity and ensures activity is performed in an efficient and safe manner.
Inspects all mechanical, electrical, and automotive equipment for any signs of water; performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs including replacing belts, oil seals and bearings, light bulbs, blown fuses, small electrical motors, electrical outlets, etc.
Reports all failures to the immediate supervisor.
Lubricates all mechanical and automotive equipment, pumps, motors, gear boxes, etc.; checks and changes oil at routine intervals.
Keeps records of all equipment serviced and replaced; maintains parts inventory; orders parts and supplies.
Repairs other equipment such as water pumps, televising equipment, chemical feeders, plumbing, etc.
Carries out the City's Customer Service Plan.
Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, and other business contacts.
Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
Will be required to drive a city vehicle for City business use.
Performs other duties as assigned.
