- Repairs and maintains City vehicles, light equipment, and small machinery and their associated systems such as electrical, hydraulic, compression, and water pumps.
- Performs complete overhaul and mechanical repair work on City equipment, which includes: automobiles, light and heavy duty trucks, mowers, and other standard and specialized equipment; performs preventive maintenance and diagnostic work on vehicles.
- Repairs and overhauls transmissions, differentials, front and rear end assemblies.
- Inspects, adjusts, and replaces necessary units and related parts, valves, pistons, piston rings, brakes, main bearing assembly, cooling, ignition, and fuel systems.
- Repairs and overhauls motors, generators, carburetor, clutches; replaces brake axles and springs.
- Repairs and overhauls air compressors, hydraulic systems, and other specialized related equipment.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
At least three (3) years of experience of automotive and preventive service maintenance that includes experience in: maintaining light or small machinery equipment, working on gasoline automotive maintenance and diagnosis, automotive mechanics, automotive wiring systems or related field.
- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
