The Customer Service Represtative II is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of billing records for the Utilities, Solid Waste, and Environmental Departments by analyzing system generated reports and performing research to verify the accuracy of water meter readings used to assess water and wastewater service charges and making any corrections necessary, in addition to assisting the Billing Office staff .
Under Utility Billing: Performs a variety of tasks related to the Utility Billing area including financial paperwork such as cancel/rebill processing, off-cycle bill processing, final bill processing and assisting with the review of disconnection lists.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Processes and/or rebills incorrect billings, adjusting accounts as necessary.
- Reviews exception listings and processes off-cycle billing; runs charge creation and daily updates for billing.
- Assists Customer Service Representative I and Office Assistants as needed.
- Manages work orders, runs reports, verifies completion, and communicates status to field supervisors.
- Performs related work as required.
Duties for Utility Billing:
- Reviews, verifies, and checks the accuracy of routine billing and collection records such as water meter readings, utility bills, and cash receipts to identify discrepancies and make corrections.
- Transfer balances, process bankruptcies; establishes and modifies records as necessary such as through cancel/rebills, off cycle bills, and back billings, and make corrections through adjustments on incorrect readings and over or under billed accounts for fair and accurate billings and to prevent loss in revenue.
- Prepare bills and notices when necessary.
- Searches databases, records, and files to retrieve information; prepares periodic notices and special reports.
- Verify that meter readings are reported back in a timely manner.
- Verify all accounts with underlying issues arising from results submitted by field staff are addressed and corrected.
- Assist with supervising and monitoring office personnel.
- Creates month end documents, reports, and account reconciliations.
- Creates and processes utility work orders.
- Assists with training office personnel.
- Maintains regular job attendance and adheres to working hours.
- Types letters, memos, notices, lists and other material that is required. Sorts, files, prepares, and maintains correspondence and other related materials, reports, and documents as required.
- Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, and other business contacts.

Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
- At least five (5) year of experience in accounting or billing services
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
