ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Collects monthly bacteriological samples for Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR) and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TECQ) requirements for 150 sites. Checks Chlorine, Monochloramine, and Ammonia levels; checks perimeters, Ph, and Temperature.
- Performs dry weather inspections and CCTV pole camera inspections.
- Calibrates water quality testing and analytical instruments.
- Provides customer service and helps address customer concerns via the 311 Call Center.
- Tests for lead and copper in homeowners’ residences, as required by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Processes information, per protocol, and replaces water lines if necessary.
- Assists other departments with water sampling from fire hydrants and construction sites as requested.
- Educates the public on city ordinances for water consumption. Provides information about violations and offers information and support to customers when needed.
- Performs related work as required.

- Two years college or Technical Degree in Environmental Technology or Science.
- At least three (3) years of experience in water sample collection or related field.
Required Licenses or Certifications
Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
OSHA & Code Enforcement certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.**
