The Health Program Coordinator will support a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded research project titled, "Interactions of SARS-CoV-2 Infection and Genetic Variation on the Risk of Cognitive Decline and Alzheimer's Disease in Ancestral and Admixed Populations." This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of daily project operations, including managing participant databases, upholding project compliance standards, and maintaining data confidentiality. Additionally, the coordinator will collaborate with a Public Health Technician
and other key partners to oversee participant recruitment and data management processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Coordinate daily program operations and maintain adherence to the project protocol.
- Monitor and track project progress, providing updates and required reports to NIH partners.
- Collaborate closely with the Public Health Technician, community partners, and other relevant program stakeholders.
- Identify, screen, and enroll eligible participants; serve as a point of contact for participant inquiries and retention efforts.
- Address any challenges related to participant recruitment, retention, or data management.
- Develop, update, and manage a participant database, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with all study guidelines and institutional policies.
- Track and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Assist in budget monitoring and resource allocation as needed.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in program delivery.
- Organize meetings, training sessions, and community outreach initiatives related to the project as needed.
- Performs related work as required.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field.
- At least one (1) year of experience in health program coordination, public health research, data management, or related experience.
Proof of TB Test/Screening will be required to be presented prior to employment.
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
