As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.

- Analyzes and resolves security breaches and vulnerability issues accurately and in a timely manner; identifies the root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Designs, performs, and oversees penetration testing of all systems to proactively identify system vulnerabilities, define security requirements, and correct security issues.
- Develops and implements the information security strategic plan for all enterprise technology.
- Performs the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of all new and existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures.
- Reviews logs and reports of all in-place devices; interprets the implications of the activity and devises plans for appropriate resolution.
- Performs network communication monitoring to detect threats and data breaches before they escalate into serious security issues.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs related work as required.

Required Licenses Or Certifications
- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is preferred.
- Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) is preferred.
- CompTIA Security or CompTIA CySA certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment.**
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification must be obtained within 12 months of employment.**
