Performs lifesaving skills, provides instructional swimming lessons to children and adults, performs routine maintenance on pool and pool facilities. Monitors all activities within the pool facility. • Physically able to perform lifesaving skills, pool maintenance, recordkeeping, sanitation, and instruction.
• Must be able to perform swimming pool duties as required such as:
  1. Maintaining swimming pool facilities
  2. Sanitation daily
  3. Vacuuming
  4. Filtration
  5. Maintaining pool grounds indoor/outdoors
  6. Other duties specified by the Aquatic Supervisor
• Must be able to communicate and work well with others.
• Must be responsible, reliable, and prompt.
• Must be able to participate and attend workshops.
• Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and the general public.
• Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, and other business contacts.
• Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience 

• Must be at least 17 years of age.

Required Licenses or Certifications

As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
