Position Overview:
The City of Laredo is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Municipal Court Judge. This position presides over cases filed in the City’s Municipal Court, including Class C misdemeanors, traffic violations, city ordinance violations, and other cases within the court's jurisdiction. The judge shall conduct hearings, make legal determinations, and ensure due process of law in accordance with the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and applicable city ordinances.
Minimum Qualifications (as mandated by the City Charter):
- Licensure: Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Residency: Must reside within the Laredo city limits at the time of appointment and throughout the term of service.
- Experience: Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience practicing law in the State of Texas.
