Position Title : Assistant Director of IS&T
Location / Dept : Central Office
Reports to : Director of IS&T
Job Goal : Ensure the smooth operation of all daily and long-term IT-related activities and projects including, but not limited to, software / hardware / networking procurement and installation, educating end users, developing and implementing guidelines, providing and maintaining help desk support to the end users in a timely fashion. Maintain and improve upon district's technology infrastructure according to individual school's needs in order to provide the best educational advantages to students and the staff of LPS. Analyze, build reports, maintain data for information requests.
Qualifications :
1. Manage projects and personnel for daily activities and long-term projects.
2. Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
3. Demonstrate leadership, administrative management, and analytical qualities.
4. Demonstrate strong communication skills with administrators, staff, and vendors in order to build relationships to help resolve issues and to meet their needs.
5. Experience with business intelligence software.
6. Experience with raw data files across multiple departments for data requests for data analyses.
7. Must have a technical background in Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suites, Networking LAN / WAN technologies (Cisco, HP, Sophos, Enterasys, Lucent, Avaya)
8. Minimum of 10 years' experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, desktops / servers / networks.
9. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings, as needed to solve service issues.
Performance Responsibilities :
1. Perform responsible functions of a complex and technical nature requiring a high degree of professional judgement and initiative in ensuring that all IT systems are functioning properly.
2. Perform routine maintenance of various applications, servers, desktops, network, and computer peripherals.
3. Monitor all of LPS critical devices and troubleshoot of hardware, software, and network problems in conjunction with users or vendors.
4. Advise, plan, organize, and supervise existing IT infrastructure.
5. Responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and tuning overall IT plans and guidelines in accordance with current standards in a cost effective manner to improve service quality within the operations and focus areas of LPS.
6. Develop and evaluate proposals for computer hardware, software, and networking equipment procurement.
7. Evaluate and provide help desk support when needed and act as a liaison between end users, internal and external support staff, in order to ensure accurate problem interpretation as well as assist in resolving conflicts by assigning staff resources.
8. Supply software and / or equipment training for staff in order to ensure the proper usage of technology.
9. Maintain an organized and stocked inventory with parts needed for a failsafe plan in case of catastrophic failure of equipment and coordinate the procurement of supplies and equipment for the department.
10. Confer and manage a team of staff, team members, vendors, and consultants in order to determine the nature of operations and their needs to discuss problems and improvements in order to complete projects
11. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding security reports, plans, and programs, and / or personnel matters.
12. Responsible for keeping an up-to-date working technical knowledge in order to provide better services to LPS by attending professional workshops, and reviewing technical publications.
13. Respond to data requests and conducting of data analyses in response to data collection requests.
14. Build and maintain data dashboards, templates and forms for data collection.
