Pediatric Infectious Diseases
The CHOC Children’s Specialists is seeking a Board Certified / Eligible Pediatric Infectious Disease physician to join our thriving practice in Orange County, California. Composed of 6 board certified pediatric infectious disease physicians, one physician assistant, and five research coordinators, our strengths include providing inpatient consultation services to other subspecialties, including a level IV neonatal, pediatric, and cardiovascular ICUs, as well as busy oncology and bone marrow transplant (oncological and non-oncological) services. These services are complemented by active general pediatric medical and surgical services. The division also offers outpatient services, including the only pediatric and adolescent HIV clinic in the region.
Beyond clinical activities, the division of infectious diseases also provides infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship services for the hospital. There is a close relationship with the local Health Department, and many opportunities for advocacy and education. The division also actively engages in clinical research and has a fellowship program. The division has close ties to the department of pediatrics and the adult infectious disease divisions at the University of California, Irvine, which provides clinical academic appointments.
The candidate we are seeking should be a senior or mid-career academic physician with a proven track record in research to broaden the current scope of the division.
