Position Title : Information Technology Specialist
Location / Dept : Central Office
Reports to : Director of IS&T
Qualifications :
1. Experience in installing, managing, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting Chromebooks, iPads, desktops, laptops, Apple Devices, printers, scanners, projectors, interactive whiteboards, documents cameras, AV Equipment, access control systems, security cameras, and other devices preferred.
2. Experience in Windows / MacOS / iOS / ChromeOS, Microsoft Office / Google Suites, Suite preferred.
3. Experience of basic LAN / WAN / WiFi technologies to assist in resolving networking issues preferred.
4. Experience in managing projects and personnel for daily activities and long-term projects.
5. Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Must have good customer support and communication skills.
7. Must be a collaborator as well as independent worker.
8. Reliable means of transportation and license for work mobility preferred.
9. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings, as needed to solve service issues.
10. Ability to learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies and trends.
11. Able to prioritize problems and help the staff through problem-solving process.
12. Proficiency in English (Bilingual Preferred).
Performance Responsibilities :
1. Diagnosing and troubleshooting various software / hardware problems and accurately track user problems and requests within the ticketing system for users in a timely fashion.
2. To ensure that all hardware and instructional software is installed and maintained in a condition that provides the best educational advantages to the staff and students' of Lawrence Public Schools.
3. Evaluate and provide help desk support when needed and function as a liaison between end users, internal and external support staff, to ensure accurate problem interpretation, and training.
4. Create and maintain documentation for all troubleshooting processes and procedures and train staff as necessary. Maintain and update network guides, drawings, and documentation as necessary.
5. Becomes proficient in the use of all existing and newly acquired technology and use that proficiency to assist staff to access and maximize their use of technology.
6. Assesses the needs of users, evaluates alternatives, and makes recommendations of hardware and software to solve problems and improve efficiency.
7. Provides user support and training on proper computer and network use.
8. Supply software and / or equipment training for staff in order to ensure the proper usage of technology.
9. Advocate and adhere to the IT strategies, hardware / software standards, security policies and operational procedures of the IT Departments' IS&T Expectations, Policies, and Procedures.
10. Performs other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or his / her designee.
Work Year : Twelve (12) months a year.
Salary Range : Salary in accordance with the Non-Union Specialists Salary Schedule.
