Provide Parks Recreation Department with additional office assistance. Operate Parks Recreation Department facilities during weeknights and weekends. Tasks involve the ability to exert light to medium physical effort lifting up to 50 lbs. The position requires constant walking. Some tasks frequently involve sitting, carrying, crouching, foot controls, vision, pushing/pulling and balancing. Occasionally fixed dexterity, reaching, handling, hearing and climbing is required.
- Assist with office duties of the Department.
- Perform scorekeeping/coaching/teaching duties for youth and adult recreation programs on weeknights and weekends.
- Help with the set-up, implementation, and breakdown of special events.
- Operate swimming pool concession stand during business hours.
- Monitor the use of equipment and activities
- Assist with the safety of equipment users and staff.
- Maintain the cleanliness of facilities.
- Welcome customers and answer questions.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Must have some previous work experience
- Available to work a flexible schedule
- Any combination of education, training, and experience, which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position, may be substituted, or evaluated at the discretion of the City.
- Recreation programs and good safety practices.
Ability to:
- Monitor recreation program participants and respond quickly and effectively in an emergency situation.
- Respond to simple requests or inquiries from the general public.
- Complete simple math calculations and make change.
