Performs entry-level customer service work that assists with Golf Shop operations such as answering phones, addressing customer inquiries, scheduling tee times, promoting and marketing the golf course, and selling merchandise. Generally, this position uses routine basic skills and works under moderate supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists in daily operations in the Golf Shop, including the sale of merchandise, collection of green fees, cart rentals, golf club and range ball rentals, and making tee-time reservations. Assists in driving range management. Operates Point of Sale (POS) cash collection system, close out cash drawer on daily basis, balance cash, and deposits.Assists Golf Cart Attendants as needed, check golf carts daily as to acceptable operation and cleanliness, and clean carts when necessary.Assists with tournament organization and administration.Assists with the flow of course activities.Performs golf course marshaling duties when needed.Operates utility cart to mechanically retrieve golf balls on driving range, as needed.Maintains neatness and cleanliness of Golf Shop and surrounding areas, including taking out trash, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, unpacking and arranging inventory.Opens and closes Club House according to policy and procedure.Ability to work weekends and holidays. Ability to work extended hours standing. Ability to lift 30 pounds unassisted, and to work outdoors in various types of weather. Exceptional customer service and good public speaking skills. Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Education and ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent.Minimum of six months of customer-service related experience. Minimum of six months cash handling experience.Availability to work weekdays and weekend shifts. Required Certificates and LicensesValid Driver's License from any U.S. State. Must be able to obtain a Texas license within 90 days of hire, per state law.Preferred QualificationsAssociate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or a higher advanced education degree.Minimum of one year of customer service related experience in the golf industry.Minimum of six months experience working on a Point-of-Sale cash collection system.PGA entry-level apprentice working towards PGA membership.
