Job Summary
Responsible for coaching male and/or female athletes between the ages of 4 and 15 years. Acts as a role model for a given number of athletes assigned to a team. Fosters sportsmanship fair play and full participation.Knowledge Skills and Abilities

- Plans and supervises games; practices; and events.
- Supervises assistant coaches; managers; or team parents.
- Encourages the involvement of parents in the sport.
- Schedules and conducts parent and other meetings.
- Provides a safe and fun environment for children.
- Learns and follows all league rules; policies; and procedures.
- Gives each player fair playing time.
- Puts the feelings of the players ahead of any personal desire to win.
- Attends all league functions and participates in league activities.
- Attends scheduled coaches’ interviews or meetings.
- Complies with and adheres to all relevant City of Lebanon Recreation; Arts & Parks standards; policies; practices; and codes of conduct.
Qualifications

18 years of age or older.

Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Successful completion of the coaches’ training curriculum; as determined by the Recreation Coordinator.

Successful completion of the application process and required background check.

Knowledge of methods involved in planning; organizing; and conducting sports activities including practices and games.

Demonstrated enthusiasm; dependability; patience and organizational skills.

Prior coaching experience and experience working with children in the designated age group preferred.

Valid driver’s license required for positions responsible for driving the Recreation van.

- Able to work in outdoor conditions, including adverse weather conditions such as heat, wind, cold, rain, dust, etc.
