JOB SUMMARY
Water Systems Utility Workers are responsible for mowing, weed eating, grounds keeping, litter pickup, hydrant painting, and other tasks as assigned.
This is a great entry level opportunity with the City of Lebanon.
This seasonal position will not exceed 6 months.
Seasonal employees are permitted to apply for regular, full time positions within the City during their seasonal employment, provided they meet the position qualifications.
DRIVER’S LICENSE
Valid TN driver’s license, and clear driving record is strongly desired. OR ability to obtain a Tennessee Driver's License within 30 to 60 days from hire.
EDUCATION
Minimum 8th Grade education.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to heat, sun, humid conditions, cold, wet, and/or fumes, dust, or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
This is a safety sensitive position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbent must be capable of performing laborious tasks over extended periods of time. Incumbents are exposed to dangerous equipment, heat, cold, rain, noise, and other adverse conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
