The Court Clerk, under the supervision of the Court Clerk Supervisor, performs clerical duties related to processing, docketing and disposition in the municipal division within the Missouri State Court System using a court case management software.
Work involves responsibility for court case processing which may require the application of independent judgment and the application of statutes, policies and regulations. Work requires frequent interaction with the public providing exceptional customer service. Work may also involve financial record keeping within the court case management software and provide support for Court Administrator and Municipal Judges.High school diploma or equivalent required and
One year experience in court or legal related field preferred and
Must be bondableProvides information and customer assistance in person, via telephone, email or other mediums (without giving legal advice) in a timely and courteous manner
Performs case processing in receiving and initiating case files; performs duties such as reviewing case filings and documents to resolve technical discrepancies
Receive and process payments in person, by mail and online, and balances individual cash drawer daily, in accordance with court rules and procedures
Ensures that all penalties are assessed and accurate in the court case management software
Prepares a variety of documents related to court operations including court orders, court calendars, notices of hearing, and court summonses
Maintains case progress by entering court activities, court orders, continuances, pleadings, enters case disposition, convictions and sentencing data into court file and court case management software
Ensures all data entered into court case management software is accurate
Schedules cases for appearance on court dockets and notifies all related parties
Attend and attain certification through the Missouri Association for Court Administration
