The Maintenance and Asset Supervisor, under the guidance of the Operations and Maintenance Manager, provides supervision, planning, and direction to support maintenance and asset management activities. This includes the personnel maintaining the water and sewer systems, all water utility facilities, grounds, and mechanical systems. Responsible for delivering and advancing the maintenance and asset management program and principles in a professional and timely manner. Decision-making is influenced by researching and promoting best practice-based maintenance and asset management concepts and practices to meet strategic departmental and program goals.
Associates Degree in Civil, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Electronics, or related field required. Bachelors preferred
Minimum of three years’ experience related to the administration of a condition assessment and/or maintenance management program. Additional experience may be considered a substitute for the degree
Must obtain Confined Space and Entry Certification within 12 months of employment
Must obtain OSHA 10 certification within 12 months of employment
Must complete National Incident Management System training courses ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, and ICS-800 within 12 months of employment
Must obtain CWEA Level II Collection System Operator Certification or Missouri equivalent within 24 months of employment
Missouri DS-III license required within 36 months of the date of employment
Valid State motor vehicle operator’s license and acceptable driving record required
Knowledge of the principles and practices of asset management predictive and preventative maintenance programs, and computerized maintenance management systems
Knowledge of complex, wide-ranging equipment maintenance and repair techniques including but not limited to pumps, motors, compressors, mixers, blowers, gearboxes, instrumentation, and controls
Knowledge of and skills in pump and motor control systems, PLC’s, and SCADA systems
Familiarity with the use of modern office equipment and computers, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to operate, maintain, and install mechanical, building, pipe, pump, water movement systems, structures, and related equipment
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and with suppliers or vendors
Ability to implement standardized processes and formats for documentation of equipment condition, operation, and maintenance
Supervises Equipment and Facilities Technicians. This position exercises independent judgment, and demonstrates an advanced level of specialized maintenance and asset management expertise to resolve routine and complex or unique equipment and repair problems. This employee works with a high degree of independence, judgment, and discretion based on achieving overall program objectives.
